Seven Things That God Hates
By forsaking the seven things God hates and walking in humility, truth, and holiness, the Holy Spirit fills your life.

The Bible teaches that there are seven things God hates because they corrupt the human heart and destroy relationships with Him and with others. Among them are pride, lying, shedding innocent blood, wicked plans, eagerness to do evil, false witness, and creating division among people. These sins may begin quietly within the heart, but over time they grow into actions that grieve the Holy Spirit and separate a person from God’s presence.
Pride stands at the center of many other sins. When people become proud because of knowledge, beauty, wealth, ministry, power, or spiritual gifts, they slowly stop depending on God and begin glorifying themselves. The fall of Lucifer is a powerful reminder that pride leads to destruction. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. A humble heart remains teachable, prayerful, and surrendered before the Lord.
God also hates lying, deception, gossip, and false witness because truth reflects His nature. False words create pain, confusion, and broken trust among families, churches, and communities. In the same way, jealousy, hatred, and division destroy unity among believers. God desires His people to live in forgiveness, peace, and love rather than conflict and bitterness.
The heart must be guarded carefully because evil actions often begin through sinful thoughts and hidden desires. Greed, anger, envy, and unforgiveness can slowly harden the heart if they are not surrendered to God. Through repentance, prayer, and obedience to His Word, the Holy Spirit cleanses and renews the inner life.
God does not call His people merely to avoid sin outwardly, but to live with purity and sincerity before Him. When believers walk in humility, truth, forgiveness, and holiness, the Holy Spirit fills their lives with peace, wisdom, joy, and spiritual strength.
